The trio Carles Benavent-Tino Di Geraldo- Jorge Pardo appeared as a continuation of the previous group of Jorge Pardo and Carles Benavent, the sextet that made history in the new flamenco and who accomplished his cycle in the summer of '98 with a tour of apotheosis in the most important jazz festivals that took them from Vitoria to Montreal. |

El concierto de Sevilla was the first witness sound editing. An album that was recorded during two concerts at the Teatro Central in Seville on December 1999. An extraordinary fusion of jazz, flamenco and Mediterranean music, where together including songs from his previous recording career. |

Sin precedentes is the title chosen for their second album, which contained original compositions by Benavent, Di Geraldo and Pardo. In this new work, 'the trio' journey continues ... at their own way. Almost a decade has taken Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent and Tino di Geraldo to return to the recording arena. The saxophonist, bassist and drummer do, according to Jorge, "an update of the proposal" that until now only had records in 'Live from from Sevilla'. The obvious difference with that first album is the studio work. As Tino says, "squeeze the maximum laboratory. So much so that even they were surprised by such things as a great sound and technical creativity. For Carles is "a record to listen many times." For Jorge, "a record unprecedented ... in history " |

Jorge Pardo (Madrid, España, 1955). Sax and flute. Jorge Pardo, saxophone and flute player, is one of the most outstanding and consistent revelations of the flamenco jazz fusion. He started studying at the Madrid Conservatory when he was fourteen. Soon, he oriented his career towards jazz, and he was one of the founders of Dolores (with Pedro Ruy-Blas). He is one of the most international Spanish jazz players. He entered the flamenco world carried by Paco de Lucía, and he has achieved a new blending of the more traditional jazz with flamenco. His playing style, with the cross flute as well as the saxophone, has become a referential point. |
|
Apart of working with the Paco de Lucía Sextet, he also has played with almost all of the most important flamenco artists. He also has performed with Chick Corea and Astrud Gilberto, and usually collaborates with Ketama and La Barbería del Sur. |
